The Denver Regional Council of Governments is planning to collect aerial imagery in the Denver Region in 2026.
Since 2002, DRCOG has been pursuing an imagery project (also known as the Denver Regional Aerial Photography Project or DRAPP) on behalf of local governments and public entities. Through DRCOG’s facilitation, approximately 50 organizations agree on product requirements and pool their funding to collectively purchase a regionwide deliverable at a fraction of the cost they would pay on their own.
The resulting imagery provides a high-resolution basemap that is valuable for local and regional mapping and analysis. Download historical imagery tiles from the Regional Data Catalog. The imagery is also the source for derivative products such as planimetric data (building footprints, sidewalks, parking lots etc.) and land cover data.
Project planning will occur until the late fall of 2025. Flights will begin in the first quarter of 2026.
If your organization has not participated before and would like to become a project partner in 2026, please reach out to Josh Pendleton at jpendleton@drcog.org.
