I know at one point or another in our careers, we have struggled with lining up data and map projections [OK, many times for me, I confess; the Michigan oblique Mercator being a memorable one!]. A 2nd edition of the Esri Press book Lining Up Data in ArcGIS: A Guide to Map Projections, is available now. It is an easy-to-navigate, troubleshooting reference for any GIS user with the common problem of data misalignment. This second edition is compatible with ArcGIS® 10.1 and includes new sections on aligning CAD data and appropriate use of the web Mercator projection.
