Description of the Work: Boulder County has an opening for a GIS Coordinator in the Information Technology Division. The Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all activities related to the design, provision and maintenance of geographic information systems. Comprehensive knowledge of ESRI Software (ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, etc.), current principles, practices, and procedures of GIS mapping, analysis and application ideally including knowledge of usage in local government is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Server, Oracle/SQL database, networking as it relates to the GIS environment is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills in combination with analytical abilities are needed to understand and convey information about GIS operations and applications.

Complete Description:
Test engineer to conduct unit and verification testing of database and other software applications that support ballistic missile defense ground testing at the JNIC, Ballistic Missile Ground Test Center. The applicant will work with other test engineers to implement a formal testing program. They will be responsible for developing test methodologies and test plans for post test analysis tools consisting of database applications, specialized queries and graphics applications which are used to analyze ballistic missile defense system data. The applicant will be required to coordinate with relevant stakeholders regarding all test activities to insure all software test requirements are met. All testing will be done commensurate with CMMI Level 3.

Minimum Requirements:
The applicant must have familiarity with test concepts in general and the ability to develop perceptive test approaches. They must have the ability to understand and analyze scientific data in order to develop sound test concepts and perform verification testing of specialized database applications, queries and other software applications. Familiarity with testing and analysis of BMDS data is a definite plus. Familiarity with process engineering is also a plus. The applicant must be customer-focused and able to complete required testing within established deadlines. The applicant must have initiative and be a self-starter. They must be able to work independently while functioning in a team environment.

Preferred Requirements:
Knowledge of ballistic missile defense ground testing or wargames, including associated message protocols such as TADIL-J, VMF, B/C-Series, etc, distributed interactive simulation or a specific BMDS element his beneficial. We are actively seeking a part-time Geographic Information Systems Technician for our Broomfield, Colorado office. This position will provide technical support in GIS technologies to staff and clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in GIS, geography, or cultural resources management. This position will report to the GIS Coordinator and is a temporary hourly position. Pay rate is based on individual qualifications and experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform GIS support for cultural resource projects;
· Design and maintain a variety of spatial data layers and associated
attributes;
· Manipulate, analyze and interpret data from many sources and in many
formats;
· Digitize map features and scan hardcopy maps and drawings;
· Work closely with project managers and field crew when assembling all
necessary data layers for archaeological report maps;
· Create report quality map products using ArcGIS templates and styles;
· Contribute to expanding SWCA’s professional reputation in natural and
cultural resource consulting and research;
· Work closely with SWCA’s other managers and directors in both natural and
cultural resources throughout the company to promote SWCA’s business interests in adherence to its mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in geography, cartography, archaeology, or related field. A qualified candidate may also be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in one of the above listed programs. Two (2) or more years of hands-on GIS experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS 8.x or 9.x. Experience creating archaeological excavation maps within ArcGIS or other mapping program highly desired. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Proven organizational and problem solving skills as well as attention to detail required. Must be able to formulate and clearly communicate ideas to others and communicate effectively with staff and clients through personal contact, emails and written letters/memos.
