GIS DEVELOPER
PACIFIC WESTERN TECHNOLOGIES

This position involves technical development of custom GIS applications and relational data management systems. Through cooperation with various departments, the successful candidate will develop geospatial visualization, analysis and reporting tools to support work group needs.

Essential Functions:
Designs, builds and maintains custom GIS applications and RDBMS.
Develops and maintains custom scripts for use in GIS applications using programming language development tools.
Develops summary reports using data reporting tools.
Analyzes work flow for continuous improvements.
Coordinates cyclical data updates within master GIS.
Provides training and advice to users regarding GIS applications and use of specialized software.
Works with IT to support GIS functionality.

Other Responsibilities:
Attend meetings in support of further developing effective GIS tools and methodology.
Provide knowledge and expertise in achieving Division goals and objectives.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Proficient GIS developer using ESRI ArcGIS software to include ArcMap, ArcObjects, ArcEditor, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox.
Experienced programmer in GIS environment.
Experience with Crystal Reports, MS Office
Ability to work well with a team.
Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions
Proven experience with work flow improvement implementation.
Strong organizational and conceptualization skills
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to identify opportunities that help improve product quality or productivity

Qualifications:
No less than 5 years experience developing custom GIS applications.
BS in Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Management Information Systems, Masters Degree desired but not required.

LIDAR PROJECT COORDINATOR
PROJECT MANAGER - ADVANCED SYSTEM
SANBORN

LiDAR Project Coordinator
The Sanborn Map Company, Inc. (Sanborn) is in search of a Project Coordinator responsible for the internal coordination of technical project components, including compliance with quality/specifications for multiple LiDAR and mapping projects. In this role you will work with the project manager and Sanborn clients by serving as a technical resource, resolving issues, and coordinating work efforts of staff assigned to the project.

Responsibilities:
¢ Acts as liaison with Technical Representative for project development tasks to include generating LiDAR tile layout, project area, project requirements and develop LiDAR Filters
¢ Demonstrates a solid understanding of project requirements, schedule, and client expectations.
¢ Establishes and maintains production procedures.
¢ Leads the project production effort within the group for designated projects.
¢ Monitors daily project status and provides weekly project reports.
¢ Tracks hours and productivity of team members.
¢ Monitors cost performance and interacts with PM for updates and status.
¢ Ensures P3 project updates are complete and accurate.
¢ Assists LiDAR Technicians in performance of tasks.
¢ Trains team members and provides input for appraisal of department employee's productivity.
¢ Completes data processing and translations as necessary.
¢ Performs the final review of LiDAR files as needed prior to shipment.
¢ Serves as secondary point of contact with Project Managers on specification changes and project status.
¢ Ensures schedule compliance with a minimum 95%.
¢ Ensures quality products with a minimum 97% first time acceptance.
¢ Responsible for the technical execution of projects.
¢ Monitors status and quality of sub-contractors
¢ Ensures all project and department reports/status and documentation are completed in accordance with policy and ISO standards.
¢ Develop processes and procedures.
¢ Programming as required
¢ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a related GIS field; Bachelor's degree preferred; two years' remote sensing or mapping experience may be substituted for some educational requirements. One year or more of LiDAR experience preferred.

Minimum of five years related GIS production experience; at least one year as a LiDAR Technician. Must have experience in LiDAR data production environment,. Experience in quality control and inspection. Experience in LP360, GeoCUE, Microstation, ERSI ARC 9.2 and terra solid products desirable. A good understanding of datums, projections and coordinates required.

Project Manager - Advanced System
The Senior Project Manager provides leadership, direction, and oversight to assigned projects and programs and is accountable for schedule, cost, profit, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for full Program Lifecycle management including advanced project design, program financial design and management, program execution, risk management, schedule management, and other activities as defined by the Program Management Institute Guidelines. Routinely exercises business strategy skills, broad industry awareness, and technical skills to optimize project design for competitive proposals. *Reviews PFP’s and develops proposal and win strategies in conjunction with sales/ business development team.
*Accountable for the preparation of bids to successfully acquire project/programs in coordination with sales.
*Develops, writes, and presents major proposals.
*Accountable for the successful execution of assigned projects to include among other measures, acceptable profit and customer satisfaction.
*Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
*Establishes technical plan, a strategy and a work plan to accomplish aproject on schedule and under the estimated cost bid.
*Responsible for working with operations and subcontractors to determine staffing for each phase of project.
*Responsible for insuring that adequate resources and technical solutions are available to accomplish the project.
*Confers with project staff/subcontractors to outline work-plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority during project execution.
*Coordinates with operations and subcontractors to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
*Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
*Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
*Responsible for insuring the correct technical solutions are implemented to satisfy the client. This may require conferring with technical personnel across the company or subcontractors to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
*Coordinates project activities with any outside entity required such as government regulatory agencies, airports, etc.
*May oversee day-to-day activities of other Project Managers and/or Project Coordinators.
*Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:Bachelors degree in a business related field, Master’s degree preferred. EXPERIENCE:PMP Certification highly desired. Aerospace/DOD program management experience a plus. Five to seven years strong project management experience preferred, including program design, subcontract management, and project financial/schedule performance management. Contract and proposal preparation experience required. The City and County of Denver (CCD) is actively seeking to hire one to three GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technicians for the Technology Service Division's DenverGIS Program. This position works at compiling, verifying, maintaining and inputting information into multiple databases and utilizes Geographic Information System (GIS) software and hardware to digitize and enter data.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities for this position are as follows:
Digitizes information and creates, maintains, updates, queries and views GIS data to provide easier access and retrieval of processed information on multiple databases.
Creates accurate grid references utilizing appropriate GIS software, coordinate geometry and graphics to correspond with the information and/or design drawing, legal surveys, maps and addresses needed to update information for infrastructure mapping.
Creates, updates and maintains spatial data using digitization, COGO and other scanning techniques and ensures data accuracy.
Interprets and prepares data such as field notes, plats, legal descriptions and address information for use in analyzing data and updating maps.
Converts hardcopy-engineering drawings into electronic formats.
Assists and provides interested parties with specific processed spatial data including reports, maps and charts.
Creates and updates various map types using planimetric and thematic mapping techniques and aerial and satellite data, and maintains map collections.
Utilizes vector or grid overlay techniques to generate new GIS layers from existing ones.
Assists GIS users with IT questions for retrieving GIS information.
By assignment maintains computerized inventory of electronic field equipment and specialized services for users.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering, GIS, Geology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cartography, Landscape Architecture, Remote Sensing or a directly related field.
Two years of hands on professional experience working with geographical or land information systems to input and present agency or client data.
A certificate in GIS or Land Information Systems (LIS) or 12 semester hours completed in GIS/LIS coursework may be substituted for the minimum education requirement. OR Additional appropriate experience and education may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirement.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ***Any applicant selected for interviews should be prepared to demonstrate their GIS Technician abilities in ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 during the interview process.***
