Test engineer to conduct unit and verification testing of database and
other software applications that support ballistic missile defense ground
testing at the JNIC, Ballistic Missile Ground Test Center. The applicant
will work with other test engineers to implement a formal testing program.
They will be responsible for developing test methodologies and test plans
for post test analysis tools consisting of database applications, specialized
queries and graphics applications which are used to analyze ballistic
missile defense system data. The applicant will be required to coordinate
with relevant stakeholders regarding all test activities to insure all
software test requirements are met. All testing will be done commensurate
with CMMI Level 3.
Minimum Requirements:
The applicant must have familiarity with test concepts in general and
the ability to develop perceptive test approaches. They must have the
ability to understand and analyze scientific data in order to develop
sound test concepts and perform verification testing of specialized database
applications, queries and other software applications. Familiarity with
testing and analysis of BMDS data is a definite plus. Familiarity with
process engineering is also a plus. The applicant must be customer-focused
and able to complete required testing within established deadlines. The
applicant must have initiative and be a self-starter. They must be able
to work independently while functioning in a team environment.

Knowledge of ballistic missile defense ground testing or wargames, including

Lead Developer
Position Summary:
Join a team oriented, results driven, and career enriching environment
by working in all aspects of integrating and advancing geographic technology
within Johnson County Government. Use the latest ESRI and Microsoft products
to develop desktop and web-based applications that impact business processes
and decision making. Expand and market e-government solutions utilizing
current and emerging technologies to support the maintenance, distribution,
and use of spatial data in Johnson County.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Geography, or related field, plus experience (3+ years) developeing applications.
Must have considerable knowledge and understanding of the best practices
associated with the design, development and support of desktop and web-based
data and map access applications in a Microsoft/ESRI development environment.
At a minimum, the candidate's skill set should include SQL Server, Visual
Studio, and Visual Basic.
Must be able to lead and coordinate multi-agency projects and have the
ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in Safe Software's
- FME, Arc GIS desktop, ArcObjects, ArcSDE, and ArcIMS to maintain, analyze,
query, and map geographic data.
Position requires US Citizenship and will remain open until filled.
Salary range is $50,000 - $62,000.
Working schedule is 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

3. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
THE FOLLOWING:
Act as first point of contact for troubleshooting issues with GPS equipment
operations
Track location and assignment of all GPS equipment on an ongoing basis
Complete and/or verify all initial base-station set-ups
Order all repair items for GPS equipment with approval from Shop Superintendent
or Shop foreman
Purchase necessary items utilizing the Purchase Order system
Complete accurate surveys for project topos, construction staking, and
as-builts as needed
Maintain organized records in a computer-based file system on all remote
units
Implement training for other office and field personnel based on departmental
and/or individual objectives
Perform grade checking activities as needed
Participate as a member of the GPS survey and machine control team
Prepare 3D Models and point files for field surveying, and equipment automation
utilizing Auto CAD, Terramodel, Office 3D and other software as needed
Prepare and calculate accurate quantity reports. Maintain as-built records
for projects
Participate as an active member of the estimating team
Assist estimators in networking with subcontractors and vendors to acquire
competitive pricing
Communicate with project owners and engineers to acquire and maintain
current electronic files
Prioritize individual projects and tasks to achieve department and company
objectives
Multi-task and address daily issues with a constant macro-focus on the
big picture
4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2 years field surveying experience
2 years civil construction experience
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
High degree of professionalism and strong work ethic
Effective at training others
Understands the process of building a job and completing a project
Team player who is dependable and prompt

Preferred Requirements:
