Operations Engineer

Vexcel is looking for a highly skilled, self-motivated and creative engineer to help stand up and deliver the next generation of enterprise mapping technologies. The engineer will work closely with Vexcel team members and Microsoft's Virtual Earth Product Team in Redmond to develop custom designs and deployments driven by customer demand and cutting edge technologies. He/she will be expected to make periodic on-site customer visits for system deployment and support. Specific tasks to be undertaken by the engineer include the following: verify accuracy of design and configuration documents produced in Redmond; transfer and management of content from VE in Redmond to Vexcel; replication of VE standalone instances on various hardware platforms; system performance testing; design and build of various custom systems based on customer requirements.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in information technology, systems engineering, and network engineering with a broad-based skill set across software, hardware, networking and internet-facing technologies. A strong background in enterprise network design and web-based applications is required. The position also requires an in-depth understanding of networking protocols, techniques and infrastructures (TCP/IP, load balancing, security, routing, etc.). The ideal candidate will also have experience with Windows Server 2003 Internet Information Services and Microsoft SQL Server, with some T-SQL experience. Project Manager
Sanborn Project Managers provide leadership, direction, and oversight to assigned projects and programs and are accountable for schedule, cost, profit, and customer satisfaction. * Responsible for insuring the correct technical solutions are implemented to satisfy the client. This may require conferring with technical personnel across the company or subcontractors to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
* Coordinates project activities with any outside entity required such as government regulatory agencies, airports, etc.

Education:
Bachelors degree in a business related field, Master's degree preferred.

Skills/Qualifications:
PMP Certification highly desired. Five to seven years strong project management experience preferred, including program design, subcontract management, and project financial/schedule performance management. Contract and proposal preparation experience required. Strong preference for experience in all phases of imagery and mapping project lifecycle management.

GIS DATA COLLECTION TECHNICIAN

Pacific Western Technologies, Ltd in Lakewood, CO is looking for two highly motivated individuals to join the GIS data collection team. The GIS Data Collection Technician is a member of the Federal Highway Administration Road Inventory Program (RIP) crew, based in Lakewood, Colorado. The RIP’s primary client is the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). The Road Inventory Program is engaged in an ongoing, multi-year effort to inventory and collect road assessment data on the nationwide FWS road network, and to deliver quality data within schedule to its end users.

This position involves extensive nationwide travel, teamwork, data collection and quality checks of roadway data. To maintain the RIP program schedule, long work hours are typically required while in the field. This job requires approximately 75% travel and includes weekends.

Essential Functions:
Travel nationwide to field locations and collect roadway assessment data using a hand held Tremble Geo-XH GPS unit.
Post-process and quality check vehicle-collected data.
Conduct routine data collection duties with a spirit of teamwork, respect, and cooperation.
Communicate with team on a daily basis.
Organize and post-process collected data while at the FHWA office.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work long hours on extended road trips of typical 1-3 week duration. This position requires 75% travel.
Proficient computer user.
Ability to work well in a small team in remote environments.
Flexible mind-set when confronted with equipment problems or schedule changes. Ability to problem solve.

REMOTE SENSING/GIS SPECIALIST
USDA-ARS JORNADA EXPERIMENTAL RANGE
NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY
LAS CRUCES, NEW MEXICO

The New Mexico State University, USDA-ARS Jornada Experimental Range (JER) in Las Cruces, NM, USA is seeking a temporary, full-time technical specialist, not to exceed two years (the position may be extended at the end of the period). The Long-Term Ecological Research site at the JER has one of the longest continuous periods of records in arid regions, extending back to 1912 while the site also has a rich remote sensing database, including aerial photography (which starts in 1936). In addition to numerous satellite datasets from various sensors, high resolution digital photography from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has recently been obtained. The position requires a Bachelor's or Master's of Science in fields such as remote sensing, GIS, geography, natural resources, environmental sciences, or engineering; 3 years job related experience with 2 years in remote sensing data processing; and experience with soils, vegetation, or geomorphology field classification.

Responsibilities of the position include: processing and analyzing satellite imagery, aerial photography, ground-based plot photography, and Lidar data; orthorectifying and mosaicking aerial photography and hyperspatial UAV imagery; analyzing and integrating remotely sensed, GIS, and GPS data, and assisting researchers with image processing tasks; assisting with field data collection. Two to three years of experience with remote sensing/GIS software is required (Erdas Imagine, Leica Photogrammetric Suite, ESRI suite, ENVI, eCognition, Feature Analyst, etc.). Experience with digital photogrammetry and programming experience in the remote sensing/GIS environment are preferred.

The position will be based on the campus of New Mexico State University and the salary will be dependent on the applicant's level of education and experience and will range between $27,497-$41,246.
