The Denver Police Department currently has position vacancies for Administrative
Analysts (Crime Analysis). This position performs analysis of crime reports
and statistics to describe crime trends, identify significant crime events,
series and patterns, presents findings in written and oral format, uses
mapping and other presentation and statistical software, works closely
with district officers, detectives and supervisory and command officers,
maintaining appropriate confidentiality of materials read and produced.
Qualified applicants must possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal
Justice, Crime Analysis, Public Administration, Business Administration,
Operations Research or a related field as well as two years of experience
performing crime analysis at a federal, state or local law enforcement
agency. Professional or state certification as a Crime Analyst is highly
desired. A combination of appropriate education and experience may be
substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
Finalists will be subject to a comprehensive background investigation
conducted by the Denver Police Department including employment and criminal
history which could include a polygraph examination.

Remote Sensing. The department is interested to enhance its strengths
in remote sensing and planetary science, exploration seismology and reservoir
characterization and to expand its program in areas including, but not
limited to, near-surface geophysics (groundwater, environmental, geotechnical,
and hazards), electromagnetics, geodesy, and tectonics.
Mines is a unique institution of applied science and engineering
with a global reputation for excellence in programs such as Geophysics,
focusing on natural resources, environment, energy, and economics. Located
in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, CSM is just minutes
away from Boulder and Denver, offering a unique combination of mountain
living coupled with large city amenities. With the USGS located on campus
