Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to Sanborn’s LiDAR Services projects. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Earth Science, Geomatics or relevant field. Extensive experience in all phases of photogrammetric mapping, including aerial collection; surveying; analytical triangulation; stereoscopic compilation; digital ortho production; cartographic editing; and GIS database design. Experience working with LiDAR systems preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years strong project management experience including project design and schedule performance management. Contract and proposal preparation experience required. Objective:
To coordinate and conduct, as directed, the implementation of the District’s planning efforts, including short and long-term enrollment forecasting, planning for new schools, school additions and school closures; determining student yield from housing developments, provide expertise in planning-related issues, respond to inquiries from staff, community, and developers regarding enrollment forecasts and active housing developments. Also, the planner will further develop district projections methodology and processes in consultation with district administrators. This includes the development of existing demographic tools/software and the automation of reports that are typically required by the district.

Essential Functions:
1. Prepare annual enrollment forecasts and monitor/adjust these forecasts in line with district needs.
2. Create alternate forecasts based on school closures, boundary modifications, and school restructuring efforts.
3. Generate student yield estimates to determine the need for the construction of new school facilities and/or additions to existing facilities based on data obtained from both housing developers and state data (i.e., census data, City data, etc.).
4. Brief appropriate staff as needed regarding projections, forecasts, demographics and other planning needs/issues.
5. Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in urban/regional planning (or other appropriate discipline).
A minimum of three years experience with school planning and enrollment forecasting.
Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating in written and oral form, including preparing technical reports/conducting presentations and a demonstrated current knowledge of a variety of computer hardware, software, operating systems and emerging technologies.
Experience with cohort-survival ratios, multiple regression, and housing yield estimate techniques, are desired
