Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced degree desired. Minimum of four (4) years experience
developing and maintaining GIS software applications with
demonstrated proficiency. Experience solving a variety of
geospatial problems using Java or C++. Experience with SQL
and ArcSDE geospatial databases. Experience in object-oriented
design and programming. Experience with ESRI object libraries
(MapObjects Java or ArcObjects C++) is desired. Experience
using Rational Unified Process and RUP tools is desired. Software
development certification is desired. Aviation or Marine software
development experience is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Demonstrated proficiency completing the development of IT
projects using the Rational Unified Process (RUP) process,
Primavera - P3E, TeamPlay, ClearCase, ClearQuest or equivalent
scheduling tools, methodologies, and strategies. Demonstrated
proficiency with a variety of operating systems, including
but not limited to: Windows, UNIX, Mac OS, and other systems.
Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication
skills, including making scheduled/unscheduled presentations
