opportunity for a Geographic Information System (GIS) Data
Base Analyst in our organization.
Under general direction of the Chief Technology Officer, the
purpose of the position is to coordinate the overall support,
development and administration of Town databases with specific
emphasis on interaction with GIS data. Work includes coordinating
user requirements with system capabilities and establishing
and implementing system policies, procedures, and standards.
Work also involves SDE database and ArcIMS website administration
for GIS. Technical skill only gets you half way there. Excellent
interpersonal communication skills including the ability to
listen and convey information in a plain and common descriptive
manner is important to our high customer service expectations.
We value teamwork, cooperation, quality problem solving, and
expect our staff to uphold these values.
Generally a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related
field; supplemented by three (3) years of previous experience
or training that includes experience in databases and GIS
technology; or any equivalent combination of education, training
and experience. Experience with Microsoft SQL server is required
and the following is highly desired: Database technologies
including Access, Oracle, DB2; HTML, XML, JAVA, Visual Basic
and MS .Net programming languages; ESRI based GIS software
specifically ArcIMS and ArcSDE.

Specific Description
IMINT IPT Engineer Description: This individual will work
the requirements analysis, design, development, integration
and test of the IMINT product components, which include SAR/GMTI,
EO/IR, streaming video, MTI and HSI sensors. Work end-to-end
from apertures to reporting and understand the system engineering,
development and procurement processes to close requirements,
design, implementation and integration to produce the SAR/GMTI
and EO/IR subsystems. Responsibilities include (1) ensure
the IMINT requirements, design, development, integration and
test of the IMINT sensor suite meet or exceed the IMINT system
requirements, architecture and standards, (2) support Size
Weight Power and Cooling requirements of the Air IPT if requested,
(3) coordination and resolution of requirements and design
issues with the IMINT IPT Lead Engineer as needed, (4) engineering
analysis and technical interaction with SEIT and other IPTs
for product generation. Experience: Requires knowledge and
technical experience for hardware and software requirements
analysis, design, development, integration and test of ISR
systems, preferably airborne tactical ISR. Must have good
technical skills as well as communication and skills with
local and remote development teams. Demonstrated capability
and experience with IMINT systems is required. Applicants
selected will be subject to a government security investigation
and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified
information.
General Position Description
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification
and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness
analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all
levels of total system product to include: concept, design,
fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and
disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of
customer or product requirements into total systems solutions
that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade
studies, requirements allocation and interface definition
studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and
software specifications.
Typical Minimums
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline,
or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years
of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience
with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.

experienced in all phases of GIS implementation, including

application development and establishing GIS workflows. Technical
knowledge of Oracle Spatial (9i and 10g).
Knowledgeable and experienced in setting up and managing servers
such as Oracle, ArcSDE, Tomcat, Oracle JServer, Oracle 9iAS,
Microsoft IIS, Netscape Enterprise Server, JMS. Experienced
and have a thorough understanding of internet technologies
such as HTML, JSP/ASP/Servlets, and web applications interfacing
with databases is desirable, but not essential.
