ASSOCIATE FOR INNOVATION For full description, go to http://www.asprs.org/resources/classified.html The position will be located in one of the two NGTOC sites, either Rolla,
MO or Denver, CO. The NGTOC is the operational component of the USGS National
Geospatial Program, responsible for acquisition, maintenance, development,
management and distribution of public domain base geospatial data for
the nation. If you are familiar with The National Map, The National AtlasTM,
USGS topographic maps, public domain digital orthoimagery, digital elevation
models (DEMs), the National Hydrography Dataset, the Geographic
Names Information System, or the Best Practices Transportation, Structures,
and Governmental Units Geodatabases, then, you are familiar with the work
of the NGTOC. The Associate for Innovation is one of two key senior management
positions within the NGTOC reporting to the Director of the Center. The
Associate for Innovation manages the Innovation Office of the NGTOC at
both of its locations (Denver, CO and Rolla, MO) at a senior level. The
Innovation Office performs applied research and investigations in order
to bring leading edge processes, techniques, and technology into use in
achieving the goals of the National Geospatial Program. The Office also
assesses and documents enterprise-level system requirements for the NGP
and works to develop and acquire systems which meet these requirements.
Finally, the Innovations Office houses research staff affiliated with
the Center of Excellence for Geospatial Information Science (CEGIS). NGTOC
Innovations Office staff serves as a bridge to implement CEGIS research
in an operational environment. The Innovation Office consists of approximately
40 full-time federal employees including geographers, physical scientists,
cartographers, IT specialists, computer scientists, and support staff.

Springs, CO An adjunct faculty member (part-time instructor ) is needed to teach one section of remote sensing per semester. Adjunct faculty work under the direction of their respective Department Chairs and Division Deans/Assistants to the Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the college and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Adjunct faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course. Minimum Qualifications: Required teaching credentials or ability to receive such credentials as required by the discipline; a minimum of two years' experience teaching remote sensing and digital image processing. Salary: $32.00 per contact hour - $2,400 per semester. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in the discipline or closely related field with specialization in remote sensing and GIS from an accredited college or university. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience in a variety of GIS skill levels, and experience with remote sensing applications in particular. The course will begin in the Spring 2009 semester (January 21 thru May
15); scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings (8:30-10:45) at the Rampart
Range campus of Pikes Peak Community College (north end of Colorado Springs).
The text will be Lillesand's Remote Sensing and Image Interpretation,
