The U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC), Denver, CO has a student contractor position (up to 40 hours per week) beginning in January of 2018. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Applications is preferred. The Student Contractor will be working under the direction of the Management Services Specialist to support facilities management.

Facilities Administrative Assistant Student Contractor
● The U.S. Geological Survey’s National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC) is looking to fill a part time (15-25 hours/wk during the school year and up to 40 hours/wk during vacation times) student contractor position beginning in the winter of 2017-2018. Students must at least be in their first college year with no more than three completed years of college. Although students may be accepted while in their fourth year of studies, graduate students will not be considered for this position. Students must meet the minimum requirement of having 18 years of age.
● The student must possess the ability to perform straightforward, routine tasks aided by oral/written instructions. The student must be able to document work completed in standard government forms, provided by USGS. Familiarity in creating documents or spreadsheets in Microsoft Office or Google Applications is preferred. Familiarity using email, such as Google Mail, is preferred.
● The student will be responsible for elementary routine work supporting facilities operations, property tracking and disposal, warehouse organization, and supply management. Work activities include assisting with identification, inventory and disposal of government controlled property; minor adjustments to offices and workspaces, and moving equipment in NGTOC’s warehouse. The student may assist with daily delivery of mail and restocking/organizing of supplies and equipment, if needed. Work involves considerable walking, pushing or pulling delivery carts and hand trucks, lifting of equipment and supplies, and moving of office furniture weighing 50 pounds or more.
Pay is commensurate with the level of education and experience as well as the level required by the position ($13.38- $16.39/hr.).
